2019 Vocational School Student Competency Competition in Yogyakarta Special Region Embraces 54 Students of the Engineering Faculty of YSU

Yogyakarta Special Region Youth and Sports Education Office once again held the 2019 Yogyakarta Vocational Student Competency Competition which took place at the Yogyakarta Technical Education Training Board on Tuesday (12/11). A total of 54 students of the Faculty of Engineering of Yogyakarta State University played an important role in organizing the 2019 Yogyakarta Vocational Student Competency Competition. The Technical Education Training Board as the organizer of the event entrusted 54 students of the Faculty of Engineering of Yogyakarta State University as the technical team of the 2019 Vocational Student Competency Competition in Yogyakarta. There are 18 fields of engineering that are contested in this event. In each field there is a technical team from the Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University consisting of 3 students. As a technical team, they worked with 3 judges in each field. The jury in this event involved the lecturers of the Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University and the industry. This annual event was attended by 659 vocational students. This event estuary is to be able to take the output of vocational students representing Yogyakarta Special Region to the national level.

According to Dicky Fauzy as one of the technical teams of the Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University in the field of Electrical Isolation and Industrial Control, there is a selection from individual lecturers. The lecturers selected as judges recruited 3 students to work together in the Student Competency Competition. Dicky, an Electrical Engineering Education student who was chosen as one of the technical teams for the Student Competency Competition, turned out to be an outstanding student. Dicky just won 1st Place in the Electrical Competition at the Asean Skill Competition at the Yogyakarta Special Region and represented the Yogyakarta Special Region at the Asean Skill Competition at the National level. According to him, the provision made it easier for him to carry out his duties in this Student Competency Competition. As for some of the obstacles he encountered, namely synchronizing the technical team with participants in terms of tools, material aspects, and aspects of preparation. Menurt Dicky must have a thorough preparation and for maximum results. In addition, the technical team must be clever to set the tempo and coordinate the jury so that the journey ahead is better. Dicky hoped that the participants could be better and show their skills to be able to represent the Special Region of Yogyakarta to the national level.

This Student Competency Competition lasts for 2 days, November 12 and November 13, 2019. As for the one-day competition and there is also a two-day competition. This competition starts from 07.30 WIB until finished. Each race there are three to four sessions. Systematics of the competition in general, participants were given questions or cases. Each case will be taken points. Judges will judge the extent to which participants can reach their points. Achieving the highest total points will be the champion in this race.

Mr. Isme as the committee of the Student Competency Competition added, that the competition which had many participants would be held for two days. This tight selection aims to recruit superior seeds of prospective professional workers in their fields. The hope is that they will be able to compete in the industrial sector. In addition, in the future after winning the championship at the national level can continue to the international level. He also said that the existence of a technical team from the Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University would automatically greatly assist the competition. The technical team of the Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University, the term they are a team of judges, so it helps the jury to achieve speed and timeliness in assessment. He is of the opinion that the performance of the technical team of the Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University is also very good at working.
