Increasing the Competence of Construction Workers, the Minister of Public Works and Human Settlements Continues Cooperation with the Engineering Faculty of Yogyakarta State University

The Faculty of Engineering of Yogyakarta State University continues to cooperate with the Center for the Application of Construction Technology, the Directorate General of Construction, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing related to Organizing Competency Improvement Programs in the Field of Construction Services for Students, especially students of the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning of The Faculty of Engineering of Yogyakarta State University. This was marked by the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Dean of The Faculty of Engineering of Yogyakarta State University, Prof. Herman Dwi Surjono with the State Chakra as the head of the Center for the Application of Construction Technology (02/11/2019). This agreement is a continuation of the Cooperation Agreement between the two parties which has expired.

This cooperation aims to carry out the maintenance and improvement of the competence of the construction workforce which includes the development of engineering students in the realm of knowledge, expertise and work attitudes through a series of training activities, technical guidance, seminars and research publications.

Later students will receive Distance Learning (DL) Independent Intensive Learning Information System Construction, which is an information technology-based learning process that is carried out independently by each training participant through certain internet-based applications specifically in the knowledge, skills and attitude of the construction field for each level of sub-qualification and classification or subclassification of construction services.

The DL-Independent Intensive Learning Information System Construction training is a DL-Independent Intensive Learning Information System Construction training certificate that can be used as a Certificate of Companion (SKPI).

Independent Intensive Learning Information System in the Field of Construction Ready to Achieve the Job is an Independent Intensive Learning Information System in the Field of Construction Ready to Achieve Work with a distance training system in construction which is an innovation of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing through the Directorate General of Construction.

Independent Intensive Learning Information System aims to increase and increase the capacity of construction workers by cutting distance constraints, especially for workers in remote areas that are difficult to conduct direct learning in the room.

Cakra Nagara said that Independent Intensive Learning Information System's socialization had been carried out since 2015. According to Cakra before Independent Intensive Learning Information System, the construction service community found it very difficult to get access to capacity building, but with the presence of Independent Intensive Learning Information System this could be facilitated.

"Students are sometimes confused whether their competencies are in line with the needs of the workforce, then after graduating they can get a competency certificate because they have to work first. Through Independent Intensive Learning Information System we facilitate this, "said Cakra.

Independent Intensive Learning Information System currently has four Ready to Work bundling programs. First is Independent Intensive Learning Information System-Certificate of Companion Certificate which encourages students to have competencies in the field of construction services that are standardized Indonesian national work competency standards with the benefit of obtaining a Certificate of Companion Certificate. Second, Independent Intensive Learning Information System-Certificate of Expertise encourages fresh graduates to have a Young Expert certificate. Independent Intensive Learning Information System certificate is useful as a "ticket" to get a Certificate of Expertise.

In addition to the implementation of the Independent Intensive Learning Information System Agreement between The Faculty of Engineering of Yogyakarta State University and the Center for the Application of Construction Technology will also initiate the implementation of Knowledge Management in the field of construction; development and application program for Building Information Modelling, construction apprenticeship program; implementation of green infrastructure, monitoring and evaluation of the process of implementing all activities and exchanging data and information on DL-Independent Intensive Learning Information System Construction training, Knowledge Management, Building Information Modelling programs, apprenticeship programs in the field of construction and the application of green infrastructure.
