AUN-QA VISITATION OF TWO STUDY PROGRAMS IN FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

Many efforts to realize the vision of YSU to become a world-class campus are continued to be promoted. These efforts appear from various programs that have succeeded in grasping various achievements and recognition from international. One of the international standardization steps towards the quality and service of YSU is visitation of four Bachelor Study Programs , Electrical Engineering Education, Electronic Engineering Education, Mathematics Education and Chemical Education by ASEAN Quality Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) for three days (21-23 / 01/2020). AUN-QA is one types of assessment of the quality of study programs by emphasizing self-assessment through the preparation of Self-Assessment Report (SAR).

AUN-QA was prepared referring to international accreditation standards by Quality Assuarance experts throughout ASEAN. AUN-QA itself aims to guarantee the quality of study programs as a form of quality monitoring from AUN with systematic, structured, transparent and continuous measurements to ensure the availability of quality human resources who will later contribute to the sustainable development of the community.

The AUN-QA Processor Team came from various universities in Southeast Asia. They are Assoc. Prof. Kamolwan Lueprasert (King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vongdeuan OSAY (National University of Laos) for the Mathematics Education Study Program. Prof. Wan Ahmad Kamil Mahmood, Ph.D. (Universiti Sains Malaysia), Dr. Dhiyathad Prateeppornnarong (National Institute of Development Administration, Thailand) for Chemical Education, Assoc. Prof. Chavalit Wongse-ek (Mahidol University, Thailand), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Nizam Ab Rahman (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) for Electrical Engineering Education, Dr.Veerades Panvisavas from Mahidol University International College, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Brian Canlas Gozun (De La Salle University, Philippines) for Electronics Engineering Education and accompanied by AUN-QA secretariat and assessment team Ms.Ing-orn Jeerararuensak and Ms. Nisanat Watthayu.

In this visitation, Faculty of Engineering YSU has also prepared to welcome the assessor team by presenting exhibitions of works and innovations that have made a series of achievements both nationally and internationally including Weapon Robot V.1, or tank products equipped with weapons to recognize enemies and attack through artificial intelligence , Garuda Urban Car which has been the runner up of Shell Eco Marathon in Asia Pacific, Robot Rosemery which won 1st place in Indonesian Dance Robot Contest, War Truss Horses which had won 1st place in National Horses for 3 years in a row, SmeltingAluminum Machine , Unmanned Aircraft that has been named Second Place in the KRTI Racing Plane Division, Carnival Team, as well as food preparations from local materials and other findings.
