Scholarship Socialization to Study in Taiwan

Faculty of Engineering of Yogyakarta State University (FT UNY) in cooperation with the Indonesia - Taiwan Student Association held a socialization of Advanced Study Scholarships to Taiwan which was attended by all students and administrators of the FT UNY Student Executive Board (BEM) (03/02/2022). Appearing as resource persons were Intan Lisnawati who holds a Master Degree from National Central University and Muhammad Irfan Luthfi Double Degree from National Central University and Postgraduate YSU.

They described the enormous opportunity to continue their studies in Taiwan. "There are 153 universities there with 48 government-owned and 105 others private," said Intan.  "The first rank is National Taiwan University which also ranks 105th in the webometrics version," she continued.

"Whereas there are many sources of scholarships in Taiwan, coming from the government or companies / foundations such as the Minister of Science and Technology of Taiwan each year with a registration period around January-March, Minister of Education, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Ministry of Education Taiwan, Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund, Taiwan International Graduate Program, and others, "continued Intan.

"There are also many scholarships from each university, but the campus has a different scholarship scheme even for each department," she explained.

"There is also a lab project-based scholarship which is a laboratory grant project," she added.

Muhammad Irfan Luthfi added that the campus in Taiwan opened its doors as wide as possible for international students so that the registration process was also quite fast online where the registration form could be directly downloaded at each university. "The documents are also general, not too complicated, at least each document has been translated into English by a certified translator," Irfan added.

Irfan explained that the climate and facilities there are very supportive for learning and developing themselves of course.

Then he also recalled interesting things while studying in Taiwan such as getting discounts from 25% -40% to enjoy entertainment by relying on student cards. (winarti)
