Japanese company TS Corporation visits FT to recruit alumni

By admin | 8:54 AM WIB, Wed July 17, 2024

On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, Faculty of Engineering UNY was visited by a Japanese company, TS Corporation. The company, based in Okayama, Japan, is engaged in the maintenance, repair and sale of motorized vehicles. In accordance with its business field, the purpose of the visit to UNY was to recruit alumni of the Department of Automotive Engineering Education.

President Director of TS Corp., Saito Tokihiko, said that their company needs engineers in the field of motor vehicle maintenance and repair, for a long term period. “We want to form certified engineers, through various stages of career competency development as an engineer in Japan” added Dwi Indra, TS Corp. staff who became Saito Tokihiko's translator. “So it's not just a 1-2 year job, but there is a structured career path for the long term and attractive incentives” he added.

This opportunity was welcomed by Dr. Ir. Gunadi, M.Pd., IPU, Head of the Automotive Engineering Education Department, FT UNY. “The Department of Automotive Engineering Education already has a good track record in penetrating the world of work in Japan, through internships and Specified Skilled Workers students and alumni in Japan. This is a form of our commitment as part of efforts to develop international reach. We will prepare alumni that meet the needs of TS Corp”. He said to follow up on the workforce needs at TS Corp.

The Automotive Engineering Education Department has routinely sent internship students to Japan since 2019 until now. Students are spread across various automotive companies in Japan. Of course this can be a good way to spread alumni for a career in Japan. At the same time, Saito invited discussion of Automotive students who had just completed internships in Japan last June, who were present at the meeting. Thistrack record is a positive assessment by TS Tech for the Automotive Engineering Education Department.

“When (Department) of automotive can send alumni to Japan?” asked Saito at the end of the meeting. A question that can be an encouragement for students and alumni who attended the meeting. Of course, encouragement to prepare yourself, especially Japanese language skills at level N3 or N2, which are important requirements.

Students and alumni of Automotive Engineering Education FT UNY, let's prepare ourselves.
