The Department of Family Welfare Education has an important role in society because its graduates are expected to contribute to family life in improving their quality of life. This also makes the PKK Master Study Program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta committed to producing graduates who are able to solve problems in the context of science, education and training in the field of Family Welfare Education that is adaptive to changing times.
Mashudi is one of the many graduates of S2 PKK UNY who have proven their contribution to the community. Mashudi was once assigned to the Dayak Meratus community area to implement the Patriot Energy Program launched by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM). Patriot Energi is an empowerment program to increase village electrification that assigns young scholars to 4T areas (Frontier, Outermost, Disadvantaged, and Transmigration Areas) throughout Indonesia.
Mashudi said that "Although the task is contrary to my educational background, namely PKK, but in the empowerment process, the knowledge I gained while studying at S2 PKK UNY such as Family and Community Empowerment and other culinary courses are very useful and I often apply them when on duty," he said. Thus, Mashudi has proven himself capable of adapting to his work environment, the majority of which are based on hard engineering sciences.
Mashudi recounted his various experiences while on duty in the Dayak community area whose daily lives depend on existing natural resources. One of them is conducting training on the utilization of bananas into various dishes that can be enjoyed by families or sold and training in making forest honey products. Mashudi's experiences and contributions are proof that S2 PKK UNY has succeeded in equipping its graduates with useful knowledge for their self-development in the workplace.
