Santri Patching: Training on Making and Marketing Various Sambals Based on Local Potentials

Growing the entrepreneurial spirit of students to be independent and good at entrepreneurship, the Faculty of Engineering again organized Community Service (PkM) with the theme "Training in Making and Marketing Various Sambals Based on Local Potential". This service was carried out at the As-Syafi "iyah Islamic Boarding School and Orphanage, Kemirikebo, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The service team consisted of Prof. Dr. Dra. Kokom Komariah, M. Pd., Dr. Fitri Rahmawati, MP., Ezra Chica'cal Sandya, M. Pd. Assisted by 3 students of Tata Boga. This activity was carried out on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19, 2024 at 09.00 until completion.

This activity was attended by female santri consisting of 5 groups. The activity was carried out with 3 sessions, the first session was opening and explanation related to making chili sauce. The second session was making and packaging chili sauce. The chili sauce made consists of anchovy sauce, red squid sauce, matah sauce, smoked fish sauce and onion sauce. The third session was followed by an evaluation session and explanation related to product marketing.

On this occasion, the service team handed over equipment that could be used by the boarding school in the chili sauce making business. It is hoped that these tools will be utilized to produce chili sauce that can compete in the market. In addition, the service team is also committed to providing guidance and assisting the marketing of chili sauce products that have been produced by students. (Mz, KK)
