By admin | 12:14 PM WIB, Wed April 22, 2020

Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University (FT UNY) once again held an exhibition of technological works (07/02/2020) in the hall behind the KPLT Building. This agenda was held as the final result of a course on technology. This time, students of the 2013 class who exhibited their work in the form of product innovation is expected to be a solution for problems in society. Besides being used as an exhibition to promote works, this moment is also used for assessment and testing sessions on the products produced.

Head of the Mechanical Engineering Education Department, Dr. Apri Nuryanto, M.T. explained that the course of technology works was optional and amounted to 3 SKS with an emphasis on improving the ability of students to create new technology based on community issues in the engineering field. "Each technology work is made by a team consisting of 3 or more students and a supervisor with a completion time of 1 semester," he said.

In addition to displaying their work directly, students are also asked to provide communication media such as posters, pamphlets and others to support information for visitors.

Most of the products show the performance of the tool in public. Like the work of Automatic Mop Machine from Kevin M. Rizal, Dany Nur, Abizar Ihza and Dani Purwadi, a mop that can work automatically with the working principle of running while spraying soap.

There is also a 3D Printer by Muh. Shodiq Firmansyah, Yanuar Ari Senna and Afrin Bayu Aditya.

The role of lecturers as examiners is not just evaluating the work because they also provide various positive feedback to improve the students' work  with the hope of development and not stop their work in this course. Meanwhile, it is recognized by some connoisseurs of the exhibition of technological works that this time is indeed quite interesting in terms of the results offered to the public. "It's just that visitors still see some works that incidentally just development", said Tri Martanto, one of the visitors. (winarti)
