UNY FACULTY OF ENGINEERING SUPPORTING IMPROVEMENT OF VOCATIONAL SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION EXPERTISE COMPETENCE

UNY’s Faculty of Engineering actively support the effort to improve vocational education quality especially on building construction, sanitation and maintenance competencies. To give real support, the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Herman Dwi Surjono, Ph.D signed MoA with Principal of SMKN 2 Yogyakarta, Dodot Yuliantoro, M.T. and Principal of SMKN 2 Pengasih, Sumarno, M.T (08/01/2020). The head of Civil Engineering and Planning Education Department UNY, Dr. Slamet Widodo, M.T witnessed the signing ceremony.

The MoA will be the guideline for the effort to align or equalized learning among subjects in expertise competence in vocational school with the relevant or related subjects in Diploma of Civil Engineering and Planning Education in Faculty of Engineering UNY. The MoA also cover the program for teacher apprenticeships for deepening the learning material agreed upon in the field of vocational strengthening, Vocational Teacher assistance in preparing equipment material and implementation of learning in the field of agreed vocational strengthening, Assistance of Vocational teachers in preparing the devices and process of learning evaluation in the field of agreed vocational strengthening, Assistance in preparation of the Competency Certification Test, sharing of resources for the learning process.

Herman Dwi Surjono said that this collaboration is part of campus responsibility in Organizing community service and empowerment in a creative and innovative manner that encourages the development of human and community potential to realize community welfare based on piety, independence, and intellectuality.

"As a campus that has core business in the field of vocational education, this cooperation is certainly strategic for the progress of Vocational Schools and UNY’s Faculty of Enginering," he said. (hryo; Tj.Lak)
